Spirit Refinement is a process invented by Grand Artificer Martus of The Republic and involves the crystallization of the waters of The Well in ten-sided crystals which can be ingested. Part of this process also involves refining the power of Spirits into reproducible and specific effects.
Spirit Refinement begins the first golden age of the The Republic as the ability to refine Spirits and easily transport them allows them to be more easily sold and traded. Also, since the effects of Spirits are less random than they are when consumed as liquid from The Well, they are more easily sold and for varying prices.
